Summary of the contracting process

The University of the Highlands and Islands is initiating a procurement process for "Training Interventions for Remote and Rural Airports," identified under the Northern Periphery and Arctic Programme 'Smart Peripheral and Remote Airports 2020' (SPARA). The procurement is currently in the planning stage, with expressions of interest invited by 7 April 2017. This procurement covers the development of online resources in areas such as multi-skilling of staff, leadership and management, and winter operations at remote and rural airports, with an estimated workload of 300 hours per intervention between May 2017 and March 2018. The relevant location for this procurement is the Highlands and Islands region of Scotland, and it will employ a 'Quick Quote' method due to the procurement's low value, which is below the regulated threshold.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses with expertise in educational development, airport operations, or online training resource creation. Companies specialising in remote training solutions, content development, or those with previous experience in the aviation sector, particularly in remote environments, would be particularly well-positioned to compete. Participation in this project could enhance a business's portfolio and foster relationships with multiple airports across the Northern Peripheries and Arctic region while contributing to the advancement of essential training initiatives in the aviation industry.
