Consultantsmaybedeployedacrossallofthekeystepsofourgrantdevelopment,assessment andmonitoringphasesasnotedbelow: -Development -Firstand/orsecondroundapplication -Delivery -Postcompletionevaluationandreview Roles TheConsultantsroleonanyindividualcasewillbedefinedatthetimeofcommissioningand willinvolveoneormoreofthefollowingfunctions A)MentoringProjects: -Facilitatinggranteestoidentifyandremoveblockagestothedevelopmentand/ordeliveryof theirproject. -Usingspecialistknowledgeandexperiencetosupportgranteestohelpdevelopanddeliver theirproject'svision -Supportinggranteestoundertakelearninganddevelopmentopportunitiesrelevanttotheir project'sobjectives 2.2 B)MonitoringProjects: -Undertakingriskassessment(buildingonHLFanalysis)anddevelopinganagreedrisk monitoringplan.Providingmentoringsupporttoreducerisk(s)inaccordancewithrisk monitoringplan -EnsuringcompliancewithHLFrequirementsandreportingonprogressagainsttheproject planandprojectbudget -Providingexpertadviceonprojectmanagementarrangements,procurementandcostand programmeplanstosupportHLFdecisionmaking -Evaluatingprojectsandtheirimpactonpeople,communitiesandheritage C)ProvidingExpertAdvice: -SupportingHLF'sdecisionmakingprocessbycommentingonaspectsofaprojectapplication relevanttotheConsultant'sareaofexpertise. Weareseekingtorecruitapproximately25individualswhocanworkacrosstheUKandhave practicalexperienceofworkingonprojectsfocusedonlandscapesandnaturalheritage.Our aimistorecruitarangeofspecialiststoprovideexpertiseinconservationofthefollowing; habitats,species,semi-naturallandscapes,designedlandscapes(includingpublicparks), geodiversityandthemarineenvironment. Theirexperienceshouldincludeanykindofprojectthatincludesbutisnotlimitedto conservation,restoration,redevelopmentandcapitalworkstolandscapes;habitats;worksto reducenegativeenvironmentalimpact. Mentoringexpertiseandskills Inadditiontothespecialistexpertisedescribedearlier,allConsultantsmustdemonstrateskills andexperienceinMentoring,namelytheabilityto: -Useobserving,listeningandquestionstounderstandtheapplicant/grantee'ssituationand facilitatetheirthoughtprocesses -Facilitatethoseinvolvedwiththeprojecttoidentifysolutionsandactions -Supporttheprojecttoachieveitsaimsandhighqualitywork -Supporttheprojecttosetgoalsandagreemethodsofmeasuringprogresstowardsthem -Helptheprojecttodevelopthecompetenciesneededtotaketheprojectforwardwithout developingadependencyontheConsultant -Supporttheprojecttomeetdeadlines -Supporttheprojecttoadoptbestpracticeorfitnessforpurpose -Encourageacommitmenttoactionandthedevelopmentoflastingorganisationalgrowthand change.
