Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process, initiated by SRUC (Scotland's Rural College) on 9th June 2017, involves seeking suppliers for the "Cattle and Sheep Livestock Feed" under an open procedure. The procurement is set to culminate in the establishment of a Framework Agreement for an initial period of three years, with the possibility of a 12-month extension. The evaluation of bids will occur after the submission deadline of 21st July 2017, with all bids assessed based on a Most Economically Advantageous Tender (MEAT) criteria, using a Price to Quality ratio of 60:40. The delivery of goods will primarily occur within the Edinburgh area and surrounding regions, falling under the education, research, and consultancy sectors.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses engaged in agricultural supplies, particularly those offering livestock feed products. Companies must possess the Universal Feed Assurance Scheme (UFAS) accreditation or its equivalent to qualify. Additionally, suppliers that can demonstrate strong economic standing and meet quality assurance and environmental management standards will have a competitive edge in this tender process. This is an excellent opportunity for established suppliers in the agricultural sector and emerging businesses aiming to penetrate the livestock feed market.
