Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process involves the Common Services Agency, also known as NHS National Services Scotland, which is located at Gyle Square, Edinburgh, UK. The tender, titled "Licensed and Unlicensed Parenteral Nutrition," falls under the health industry category. It is in the Award stage as the contracts have already been signed, with the initial contract date noted on 27 September 2017. This framework agreement covers a period of 24 months, with potential extensions of up to 12 months, and concerns the supply of various categories of compounded parenteral nutrition products and medical devices. The procurement was conducted through an open procedure, where all interested suppliers could participate.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in medical supplies, particularly those involved in the manufacture of parenteral nutrition products, medical devices, and related components. Companies that possess the necessary certifications and authorisations, such as a valid UK Marketing Authorisation for medicines, would be well-positioned to compete successfully. With the framework intended to appoint multiple suppliers for each lot, businesses can capitalise on the demand from NHS Scotland, potentially increasing their market share within the health sector.
