The investigation will take place within four separate areas referred to as Sites A to D as detailed as follows; Site A - Flood Storage Area The main flood storage site is located within farmland immediately to the north of Kilbirnie and bounded within the valley that holds the upper reaches of the River Garnock. The eastern flank of the river can be accessed from Dipple Road and Langlands Farm, with the western flank accessed from Greenridge Farm to the north west of the site. Access routes to individual exploration holes will be agreed with the individual landowners and must be strictly adhered to. The National Grid Reference (NGR) for the approximate centre of the embankment is 231512, 656060. Site B - Kilbirnie A small investigation is required within Kilbirnie town centre, downstream of the flood storage area. These works are located along the eastern riverbank adjacent to Riverside Road. The NGR for the approximate centre of this site is 231640, 654197. Site C - Dalry The main section of the investigative works are located to the north east of Dalry generally within farmland along the foot of the railway embankment carrying the Glasgow to Ayr line. Further works are located along a section of the A737 Beith Road to the west of the railway line. Access routes to individual exploration holes will be agreed with the farmer and must be strictly adhered to. The National Grid Reference (NGR) for the approximate centre of the site is 229900 649565. Site D - DSM Nutritional Products A further small investigation is required within the DSM Nutritional Products facility which is located to the north west of the Dalry site. The National Grid Reference (NGR) for the approximate centre of this section of the site is 229830 650125.. Duration of the contract is 34 weeks, details are included in pages 2 and 3 of the Tender & General Conditions document.
