Orkney Islands Council is the Statutory and Competent Harbour Authority for the Local Authority ports of Scapa Flow, Kirkwall and twelve additional ferry terminals / piers within the Orkney Islands group. Orkney Islands Council has a requirement for a practical, pragmatic and independent person / company to be the Designated Person, as specified within the Port Marine Safety Code.

The provision of a practical, pragmatic and independent person / company to be the Designated Person, as specified within the Port Marine Safety Code published by Department of Transport in November 2016 and detailed in A Guide to Good Practice on Port Operations - Prepared in Conjunction with the Port Marine Safety Code published in February 2017, and any further updated / amendments for the period of this contract.

Renewal: The initial term is for 36 months with the option to extend for a further 2 x 12 month periods.
