Summary of the contracting process

The Highland Council is seeking proposals for the Domestic Gas Service/Repair Contract, aimed at servicing and maintaining gas heating systems across its social housing properties in Highland, UK. This procurement process is currently in the planning stage, with key communications such as a pre-contract presentation scheduled for 15th September 2017. Interested parties are encouraged to register their interest before formal tender documents are issued in October 2017. The procurement process will follow an open tender approach under the services category and is covered by the Government Procurement Agreement (GPA).

This opportunity presents a significant growth potential for businesses specialising in gas servicing and maintenance, particularly those with the capacity to manage large-scale contracts involving reactive repairs across geographically dispersed areas. Companies that can demonstrate expertise in compliance with safety regulations and have experience in servicing social housing properties will be particularly well-suited to compete for this contract. Engaging in this tender process could enhance a firm's visibility and capacity in the public procurement space, especially in the social housing sector.

"description": "We would like to invite firms to an open pre-contract presentation being held in the Chambers of The Highland Council, Glenurquhart Road, Inverness IV3 5NX The presentation will be on Friday 15th September 2017 at 1.30 pm. The purpose of this open discussion is to make you aware of our plans for the new Domestic Gas Service/Repair Contract and for you to have the opportunity to raise any concerns about the practicalities or the process. The Highland Council is the biggest registered social landlord in Highland with a stock of over 14,000 houses. As part of its legislative requirements, the Council is responsible for the maintenance and servicing of over 6,500 gas heating systems. They require an annual gas service and also reactive heating repairs which must be carried out the same day as reported by a tenant. The Council is interested in hearing from potential providers of this invaluable service prior to issuing formal tender documents in October 2017. The Council is particularly interested in how potential providers, like yourselves, may be able to manage such a large contract and in particular to provide a reactive repairs service for heating systems in such a geographically dispersed area. If you wish to attend it would be appreciated if you could record a note of interest in this PIN so we can get an estimate of numbers.
