Stonework & Roof Repairs - Modern Two

Notice Description

To carry out stonework and roof repairs to a Category A Listed building. This work will include a range of masonry works ranging from fine ashlar to rubble masonry to drystone walling; including repointing, re-bedding, rebuilding and indenting. The work will also include slating, leadwork, renewal of mastic around windows, work to chimneys, bird wire, painting and other general repair items. Use of scaffold or other access equipment will be required.

This is a two stage procurement process. A shortlist of contractors will be made from the evaluation of the submitted ESPD's. These contractors will then be sent the tender documents. From the completed tender documents a contractor will be selected based on price and quality. The shortlisted contractors will need to demonstrate that they have the required skills and experience in stone conservation and roof repairs on similar buildings. They must demonstrate that they have carried out work as described in 11.1.4. The contract will require all leadwork to be carried out by an experienced plumbers employed by a firm which is a current member of the Lead Contractors Association. All masonry work will use traditional lime mortars, to be completed by a mason experienced in the use of lime mortars. Contractors will need to provide evidence of a minimum of 3no projects demonstrating their use of traditional lime mortars for the masonry types noted above, in particular their use on category A listed buildings were available.
