Notice Description

East Renfrewshire Council is currently inviting tenders from suitably qualified companies to undertake a comprehensive community based design project to support the on-going development of Balgray Reservoir boardwalk.

Lot Information

Lot 1

Through the Glasgow City Region City Deal funding initiative, East Renfrewshire Council is progressing major infrastructure proposals to improve access between Barrhead and Newton Mearns along a 2km corridor associated with Aurs Road. The proposals encompass realigning two sections of road, replacing a weak bridge and car parking provision. The northern realignment section will include access for proposed new visitor facilities associated with Balgray Reservoir. A new inclusive pedestrian and cycling link, including a boardwalk overlooking Balgray Reservoir, will also be created along the corridor. Through a lead consultancy, the Council is seeking to appoint a multidisciplinary design team to undertake a comprehensive community based design project to support the on-going development of the Balgray Reservoir boardwalk. The outputs of the study will contribute to the preliminary design work associated with the boardwalk and directly support the subsequent technical design stage and the drafting of AIP documentation.
