Summary of the contracting process

The Scottish Government is initiating a procurement process titled "Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) Service Support," with a planned value of £28 million. This service will support various components including a Primary Data Centre located in Edinburgh and the management of P2P software. The procurement process is currently in the planning stage, with a deadline for supplier interest submissions set for 29 November 2017. The contract is expected to be awarded in May/June 2018, with the service commencement date of 5 November 2018, and an initial contract period lasting five years, with the option to extend for up to two years.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in eCommerce, IT infrastructure, and software services, particularly those with experience in procurement systems. Companies offering solutions in software licensing, service desk operations, and disaster recovery services would be well-positioned to compete. Given the extensive user base of 71,000 registered users and 168,000 suppliers interacting with the Scottish Government’s P2P service, successful bidders will have the opportunity to engage with a large and diverse public sector clientele across Scotland.
