Notice Description

Two 50kW CHP engines are to be installed at the Biggart Hospital in Ayr. The design and build M+E led contract comprises the full electrical, mechanical and installation of the system. This is to include the full design of the flue systems for both CHP units; this element is not to be an exclusion in the tender documents.

Lot 1

Pre-construction work will include the review of any structural alterations of the CHP boiler house, any widening of doorways and ceiling alterations, positioning of the CHP units within the CHP boiler room, flue mast requirements for both units, and the flue mast itself. Mains water supplies may be taken from the main boiler house. Both foul and surface water drainage systems will be required at both boiler houses. Full electrical design is required to include electrical distribution, small power, internal and external lighting, heat and fire detection and alarms, and security alarms. Each of the CHP units is to operate under its own bespoke controls. An interface with the future installed BMS system will be required, though remote comms for monitoring of the CHP units will be achieved through either a wireless modem utilising a 4G sim card (to be supplied by the NHS), or two ISDN phone lines giving a direct comms line to each unit.. Economic operators may be excluded from this competition if they are in any of the situations referred to in regulation 8 and 9 of the Procurement (Scotland) Regulations 2016.
