Summary of the contracting process

The Common Services Agency, commonly known as NHS National Services Scotland, is undertaking a procurement process for the purchase of radiotherapy equipment, specifically Linear Accelerators, for both Greater Glasgow Health Board and Lothian Health Board. This open tender, titled "Radiotherapy, Linear Accelerator," is in the active procurement stage, with a final submission deadline set for 28th November 2017. The project involves replacing outdated equipment at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre in Glasgow and the Edinburgh Cancer Centre at Western General Hospital. This initiative falls under the health sector and has an estimated value of £6.4 million, highlighted in recognition of the Scottish Government's Radiotherapy Capital Equipment Replacement Programme.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specializing in medical equipment supply and installation, particularly those with experience in radiotherapy technology. Companies that meet the stringent eligibility criteria, including a minimum annual turnover of £12.8 million for the last three years and the ability to provide CE marked products, will be well-positioned to compete. Additionally, businesses with a track record in delivering high-technical turnkey projects in the healthcare sector will find this tender particularly suitable, as the successful contractor will assume full responsibility for the supply and installation of the equipment to the respective health boards.
