We are inviting expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced contractors to determine an Invitation to Tender short-list. Interested parties wishing to be considered must complete the European Single Procurement Document ESPD (Scotland) questionnaire and submit their response by the deadline date and time. The second stage tender documents will be issued to the successful bidders following assessment of the ESPD submissions.

Greener Kirkcaldy have acquired a former Fife Council building in the centre of Kirkcaldy this is to be refurbished and converted to form a new community food hub and offices for Greener Kirkcaldy. The property is located on the eastern side of East Fergus Place south of the junction with Abbotshall Road. It is a detached 1920's building comprising a 2 storey pitched roof rendered brick structure to the front of the site with 2 single storey flat roofed annexes to the side and rear. The site is within a conservation area and the building sits within the curtilage of another grade B listed building. The property is in a reasonable condition but has not been well maintained recently with various small issues that will be resolved during the refurbishment. Condition surveys, Structural and Asbestos surveys have been carried out. The project is to convert the building to be a community food hub and Greener Kirkcaldy's offices. The principles behind the refurbishment are to reuse, retain and upgrade as much of the existing fabric as possible and provide the necessary facilities the organisation requires to carry out their work. The works will involve structural alterations, internal fit out and services upgraded to modern standards including external access ramps to improve the access. The construction cost plan is GBP 559,535 excluding VAT. Once completed the new facility will provide training facilities for food education programmes, a community space, offices and meeting rooms as well as a base for Greener Kirkcaldy. The overall objective of the project is to support and strengthen the work of Greener Kirkcaldy in the community by creating a new facility that, in addition to being available to accommodate group activities, will become a base for the provision of quality services and amenities and provide new income streams in accordance with GK's carefully considered business plan.
