Notice Description

Argyll and Bute Council is looking to appoint a consultant to undertake a feasibility study for a seawater intake and outlet pipe(s) and pumping system for Machrihanish airbase. At present we are publishing this Future Contract Opportunity Notice to increase our knowledge of the supply market for this type of contract, so are inviting suppliers interested in and capable of providing this service to the Council to register their interest in this notice before 5pm on Friday 1st December 2017.

This procurement relates to the commission a feasibility study for the provision of a Seawater intake and outfall pipe(s) and pumping system for Machrihanish Airbase to supply, and dispose of, a specified amount of seawater. The feasibility study should: 1. Explore the process of installing a seawater pipeline and pumping system, outlining: - Geology; - Required activities; - Environmental impact; - Stakeholders; - Estimated costs; - Estimated timelines; - Available resources/supply chain in Argyll and Bute; - Bathymetry; - Costs (This is not an exhaustive list. The final list requires specialist knowledge and should be decided by the contracted consultant). 2. Future proof the project to allow for capacity building and to comply with legislative and regulatory changes. 3. Outline the academic and subsequent economic opportunities that a seawater pipeline and pumping system in Argyll and Bute would present for economic development, employment and training. 4. Provide any other outputs that the specialist consultant may suggest as useful.. Argyll and Bute Council invites suppliers interested in participating in a future tender process for this contract to note their interest in this Future Contract Opportunity Notice before 5pm on Friday 1st December 2017, to allow the Council to increase its knowledge of the potential supply market available to meet these requirements
