Summary of the contracting process

The University of Edinburgh is seeking tenders for the supply of a Phase Doppler Interferometer (PDI), an essential tool for measuring droplet sizes and velocity. This procurement falls under the goods category and is classified within the education industry. The tender process is currently in the active stage, having opened for submissions on 20th February 2018, with a deadline set for 19th February 2018 at 12:00. All submissions are to be made electronically via the relevant procurement portal. Delivery is expected to take place in Edinburgh, Scotland, UK.

This opportunity is ideal for businesses specialised in supplies related to scientific instruments and measurement technologies. Companies that can demonstrate relevant experience, alongside a minimum yearly turnover of £400,000, will find themselves well-positioned to compete. The contract offers potential for long-term business growth with an initial duration of 12 months and the option for a 3-year extension covering warranty provisions. Interested firms should be prepared to meet specific insurance and quality accreditation requirements to fulfil the selection criteria stipulated by the University.
