Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process is being conducted by The Common Services Agency, known as NHS National Services Scotland (NSS), for the Framework Agreement titled "Glatiramer Acetate Injection." This contract falls under the health sector and is located in Edinburgh, UK. The procurement is currently at the award stage, having been initiated through an open procedure, and involves supplying Glatiramer Acetate Injection in both 20mg and 40mg presentations. This agreement is intended to facilitate deliveries to participating NHS authorities across Scotland. The primary contract period spans over thirty-six months, with an option for a twelve-month extension. Key dates include a bid opening on 16 April 2018, which signifies a crucial deadline for suppliers.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in pharmaceutical supply and logistical services, particularly those with experience in health sector contracts. Companies capable of meeting the technical requirements, including having valid UK Market Authorisations, MHRA approvals, and ISO certifications, would be ideally positioned to compete. The framework is designed to accommodate multiple suppliers, allowing for the engagement of up to three participants per lot, which further encourages collaboration and competitive bidding in supply continuity within NHS Scotland.
