Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process involves the Common Services Agency, also known as NHS National Services Scotland (NSS), which has initiated a tender for the "NHS Commissioned Homecare Delivery Service". This service falls within the health industry category and is located in Edinburgh, UK. The procurement stage is currently at the Award stage following an open procedure. The tender was awarded on 5th September 2018, and it involves providing homecare delivery services to approximately 12,000 patients across NHS Scotland, with an estimated annual value of £60 million for the medicines delivered under this framework agreement.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in healthcare logistics, particularly those capable of managing the delivery of low-tech and mid-tech homecare services. Companies with experience in pharmaceutical distribution, nursing support services, and ancillary product supply would be well-suited to compete for participation in this multi-supplier framework. Additionally, businesses that can demonstrate compliance with regulatory standards, such as holding a valid MHRA Wholesaler Dealers Authorisation and ISO9001 certification, will have a competitive edge in securing contracts under this framework.
