The University of Glasgow, School of Mathematics & Statistics requires a software package WebAssign to provide students with more timely, higher quality feedback.The associated software can automatically mark the work, spotting mistakes and directing students to similar exercises and the relevant section of the e-book. The teaching materials are integrated with the system. The software permits both assessment and feedback to students over a range of mathematical questions. There is no other supplier who could provide the above services on the same basis without a fundamental redesign of course provisions and would necessarily take several years to implement.
