The Almond Valley Bridge is a ten span, twin deck composite structure carrying the A899 six lane (3 per deck) dual carriageway. The bridge crosses over the River Almond, a mill lade, the B7015, Almond Interchange, Centre Road North, landscaped areas and a number of public footways/footpaths. The twin decks sit side by side to each other and have steel mesh infill flooring panels that bridge the gap between the structures. Both structures are in a similar condition and require similar repair works. Prior to placement of a contra-flow on the A899 the crossing points to either side of the bridge decks shall be cold milled (planed) and resurfaced.
