Summary of the contracting process

The Common Services Agency, commonly known as NHS National Services Scotland (NSS), is conducting a tender for the procurement of Surgical Staplers, Cutters, and Clip Appliers. This procurement is focused on supplying Central Venous Catheters for various NHS Scotland Health Boards and entities. The procurement method is classified as an open procedure, with a total contract value of £31,800,000. This tender presents significant opportunities for companies in the medical supplies sector, especially those specialising in surgical equipment and instruments. Businesses that are ISO 9001 certified and have the capability to provide latex-free, sterile products will be particularly well-suited to compete in this process. Additionally, suppliers that can demonstrate previous sales or usage experience within the NHS are likely to have a competitive advantage. The procurement aims to award ten suppliers for this framework, creating a broad opportunity for growth within the healthcare procurement landscape.
