Summary of the contracting process

The National Galleries of Scotland is initiating a multi-supplier, multi-lot framework agreement for the provision of transportation services, specifically focused on the packing and transport of fine art and related items. The tender, titled "Framework Agreement for the Provision of Transportation Services," is currently at the award stage, with a total estimated value of £900,000 and an active contract period of up to three years. Interested suppliers should note that the primary location for service delivery is Edinburgh, UK, and the submission deadline for tenders is set for June 26, 2018.

This framework agreement presents significant opportunities for logistics and transportation companies specialising in fine art and cultural heritage. Businesses equipped to handle the logistics of art transportation—including packing, storage, and technical assistance—are particularly well-suited for participation in this tender. Additionally, as the industry continues to evolve, firms with experience in meeting the specific needs of exhibitions and dealing with works containing hazardous materials may find a competitive advantage in this procurement process.
