Supply of Trackbed Blocks for SPT Subway
Notice Description
The Subway, which comprises two circular routes (each of approximately 10.4 km), is a slab track system in which rail is supported by independent (i.e. no connecting steel bar) twin-block reinforced sleepers (blocks) located either side of a central drainage channel. Blocks are set directly in the surrounding concrete trackbed, with no supporting pad / boot. There are twenty three (23) standard check rails in the slab track system, with a total combined length of approximately 1 km. Blocks through each check rail are of a modified design to accommodate the check rail baseplate. Block design is further modified at locations where conductor rail and check rail are coincident. In summary, there are a total of four (4) block types in the system and SPT requires a sole supplier to supply all four types.

Contract is to be 5 year agreement with a break clause after year 5 at which SPT will review quantities and performance. There are twenty three (23) standard check rails in the slab track system, with a total combined length of approximately 1 km.
