ASBESTOS REMOVAL DARWIN TOWER
Notice Description
As the existing contractor, Forest Environmental, has gone into administration it has become imperative that service provision is put in place for the remaining scope of asbestos removal and the safe management of the existing live asbestos enclosures and the completion of the removal of asbestos containing materials from within the Darwin Tower as part of the New Biology Asbestos removal project.

Under Regulation [6 (1) (c)] of the Procurement (Scotland) Regulations 2016, a contracting authority may award a contract without competition based on following justification: Where it is strictly necessary for reasons of extreme urgency brought about by events unforeseeable and not attributable to the University, such as emergency situations affecting the public e.g. flooding.
