Pedal for Scotland 2019-2021 Prior Information Notice Pedal for Scotland, organised by Cycling Scotland, is Scotland's biggest bike event. Back in 1999, the first event attracted 400 riders. The event has grown increasingly popular with more routes, bigger challenges and more and more participants joining in year on year. In 2017, over 8,000 riders took part in five rides across Scotland: - A 5-mile "Wee Jaunt" on 7 May starting at the Helix, Falkirk - A 6-mile "Wee Jaunt" from Perth on 6 August - Pedal for Scotland's main events on 10th September - A 45-mile "Classic Challenge" closed road ride from Glasgow to Edinburgh - A 93-mile "Big Belter" ride from Glasgow to Edinburgh, using the first 25 miles of the closed road Classic Challenge - a 10-mile "Wee Jaunt" from Linlithgow to Edinburgh. In 2018 Pedal for Scotland is set to return on Sunday 9 September with the 45 mile Classic Challenge, the 100 mile Big Belter and the 10 mile Wee Jaunt Edinburgh. Cycling Scotland intend to issue a tender later this summer seeking to appoint a contractor(s) to provide event delivery services and support to deliver Pedal for Scotland rides in future years from 2019 (potentially up to three years, with annual renewals subject to confirmation of funding). The event delivery services and support would comprise: - Overall Event Management for the Classic Challenge, Big Belter and Wee Jaunt Edinburgh - Operations Management and Administration including: -Route Management (2018 routes unless otherwise agreed) - Venue Management and Services - Traffic Management - Event Control Management - Stewarding/Marshalling - Rider Transport - Volunteer Management - Waste Management - Distribution - Route/site/Local Authority/Safety Advisory/Partner Meetings - All procurement/finance/communications/administration for the above - Community & Customers Service Management and Administration including: - Customer Relationship Management, Systems and Delivery - Event registration - Fulfilment of event packs - Community relations - systems and delivery for Local Authorities and Communities - All procurement/ finance/communications/ administration for the above - Innovation - looking at budget, income, participant experience and community benefit. The successful tenderer would also be able to bid for event delivery services for other Wee Jaunts, which will be scheduled where funding allows. This notice is not an invitation to tender and should not be considered as such. Should a tendering opportunity arise for one or more of the above noted services and support, the process will be open to all organisations whether they have submitted a response to this Prior Information Notice or not.
