Restoration of blanket bog
Notice Description
As part of an ongoing programme of restoration works within the Muirkirk and North Lowther Uplands Special Protection Area, the RSPB has secured funding to undertake restoration works in the vicinity of Airds Moss near Muirkirk. The work will relate to restoring an area of Blanket Bog to good condition where a small commercial forestry plantation has recently been removed. This work is in line with a wider project to restore areas of degraded Blanket Bog within the Muirkirk & Lowther Uplands Special Protection Area.
