Summary of the contracting process

Fife Council is seeking to establish a Scaffolding Requirements Framework Agreement, focused on both reactive maintenance and planned fixed-price works. The procurement process is currently in the Award stage, following a selective tendering method. The initial tender period ended on 25th September 2018, and the contract was signed on 11th February 2019, with a total contract value of £3,000,000. The works will require delivery in the Fife region, UK, under the legal and operational compliance of local authority regulations.

This framework agreement presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in scaffolding and related works, particularly small to medium enterprises (SMEs) with the relevant industry certifications. Suppliers with a track record of similar projects, as well as those who are members of recognised scaffolding associations, would be well-positioned to compete. The contract also emphasises community benefits, inviting bidders to contribute to local social, economic, and environmental goals, thus enhancing their business growth potential.
