Lot Information

Lot 1

The 'Food in Hospitals National Catering and Nutrition Specification for Food and Fluid Provision in Hospitals in Scotland (FiH)' originally published in 2008 and revised in 2016 has been developed to support Scottish NHS Boards in implementing: 1. The Healthcare Improvement Scotland (HIS) Standards for Food, Fluid, and Nutritional Care specifically standards 3 and 4 which relate to the provision of food and fluid in hospital. 2. The provision of appropriate food and fluid for patients who are nutritionally vulnerable and, 3. The delivery of a healthy balanced diet for patients who are considered to be 'nutritionally well', The FiH requires that all NHS Scotland catering operations should meet or exceed the required nutrient standards contained within the specification as a minimum. NHS Scotland wishes to procure a nutritional software system that can assist in demonstrating NHS board's compliance of these standards.. This exercise is being carried out in advance of any formal procurement process. The results of this exercise will be used to inform NHS National Services Scotland's decision making process in respect of the implementation of a solution and may or may not result in a future procurement. Suppliers are asked to complete and return the questionnaire attached to this notice.
