Notice Description

This procurement is for appointment of a suitably qualified and experienced Principal Contractor to undertake the design and construction of the River Ness Hydro power generation scheme. The scheme will comprise the design and construction of a new hydro-electric generation scheme based on a 100kW single Archimedes screw turbine generator at Torvean Weir in Whin Park on the river Ness upstream of the town of Inverness. The Contractor will also take on the role of Principal Designer for the project and will have to demonstrate their competence for this role.

Lot 1

This procurement is to select a suitably qualified and experienced Principal Contractor and Principal Designer to carry out the design and construction of the River Ness Hydro scheme. The scope will include everything required for the design and construction of the River Ness Hydro Scheme. The successful Tenderer will be the Principal Contractor and Principal Designer. The works will likely comprise -technical scheme design -ecological studies -obtaining all necessary licences, consents and permissions -installation, commissioning and project management -electrical connections -Archimedean screw and associated plant. -control and electrical systems -debris screen and inlet sluice gate - private wire link to existing buildings. -all associated civil works -bespoke screen and railings -information boards and electronic screens -all required routine and cyclical maintenance for the first year of operation
