Moray Council is looking to build a new early learning and childcare setting in Keith and is looking for parties interested in Leasing the building and managing the setting.

Lot 1

The project is part of the wider Early Learning & Childcare (ELC) Expansion programme. The programme has been established to enable Moray Council to deliver an increase in funded ELC hours from 600 to 1140 hours per annum by August 2020 for all three and four year olds and eligible two year olds. Moray Council will have a statutory obligation to deliver the additional hours in a flexible and sustainable way in all 8 ASG areas, while at the same time prioritising high quality experiences for every child. The proposal forms part of Moray Council's ELC Delivery Plan for the expansion of Early Learning & Childcare - approved at Council on 27 September 2017. The project will ensure the Council is able to meet its statutory responsibility to deliver 1140 hours of funded ELC to all 3 & 4 year olds and eligible 2 year olds by August 2020, while at the same time offering enhanced and flexible service models that are responsive to local demand and needs. Development of a new build standalone nursery within the grounds of Keith Grammar School (to the East of the Community Centre and adjacent to the A95) to provide a 64 place standalone nursery offering year round, extended hours provision. Moray Council plans to develop the setting and then offer it out for lease to a partner provider that is able to meet the new National Standard for the provision of funded ELC.
