Fife Council's 'Catering Live' system was developed in-house approximately 14 years ago and no longer meets the changing needs of the service or supports new technology that could offer cost savings or better Council capabilities. The system is the Service's catering database which is used for financial purposes, providing performance indicators and unit performance tables. The system is at "end of life" and requires to be replaced. Alongside Catering Live, we utilise a hosted system 'Nutmeg', this nutritionally analyses recipes and menus. It is extremely labour intensive and is also no longer fit for purpose, given the new allergen legislation and the extension to incorporate the care sector and nursery provision.
