Notice Description
The purpose of this high level information is to provide prospective Principal Contractors with information regarding NHS Ayrshire & Arran's project to provide Cardiology in-patient including high-care accommodation via refurbishment and internal alterations of Ward 1D and Clinic K at University Hospital Crosshouse (UHC), Kilmarnock, KA2 0BE.

Lot 1
The accommodation will provide compliant Cardiology in-patient including high-care accommodation that meets current Scottish healthcare standards and guidelines, for example SHPN No 28, Facilities for cardiac services - design and briefing guidance and all relevant SHTMs. Ward 1D and Clinic K was an Acute medical ward for NHS Ayrshire and Arran. The ward is currently vacant, but did have 29 staffed beds that provided capacity for acute medical patients. In order to achieve compliance with the specific standards required, significant works are required. It is envisaged that to provide fully compliant Cardiology in-patient and high-care accommodation, alterations within the existing Ward 1D footprint of circa 864 square metres, Clinic K footprint of circa 392 square metres will be required.
