Summary of the contracting process

Glasgow City Council is initiating a procurement process for the "School Bike Library" project aimed at providing primary school children in Glasgow access to bicycles on short-term loans. The procurement is currently in the planning stage, with a total estimated value of £350,000. Interested parties are invited to participate in the soft market testing exercise, with a deadline for responses set for 21st January 2019. The communication for this tender should be directed to Mrs Raji Purba via email at raji.purba@glasgow.gov.uk.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in bicycle retail or rental services, as well as those offering bicycle maintenance and servicing. Companies that can provide comprehensive support, including the supply of bicycles, safety equipment, and logistical management for up to 14 primary schools in Glasgow, will find a competitive advantage. Engaging in this initiative not only aligns with local government goals to promote cycling but also fosters community engagement and establishes long-term partnerships within the public sector.
