The successful tenderer will be required to support our social and economic objectives for defined priority groups, relating to community initiatives and employment and training opportunities, and support to social enterprises, supported businesses and SMEs. We aim to secure real economic and social benefit for residents, communities and customers through delivery of our capital investment projects. A key objective is to reduce economic inactivity across our communities and to assist unemployed individuals to access training and quality, sustainable employment opportunities. Our requirements are intended to support disadvantaged groups including SHA customers, young people and unemployed individuals; and to provide community benefit activities in the neighbourhoods we operate in. In addition, we aim to open out supply chain opportunities to SMEs, supported businesses and social enterprises. The successful tenderer will be expected to embrace our Community Benefits requirements through the duration of each project. We will work with the successful tenderer to help address social exclusion by creating and maximising employment, community engagement and business development opportunities during the delivery of our projects. Minimum targets will be included in the appointed Tenderers agreement to deliver the project. The appointed tenderer will be held to completed Community Benefit pro-forma outlining when the relevant Community Benefit targets will be met and will regularly be monitored and reported for progress towards meeting these targets. Failure to achieve the target outcome will impact the Tenderer for future tenders. Value of support to community projects, engagements or initiatives (% of contract value) This requires contractors to support activities benefiting local communities. Support can be delivered through a variety of routes, e.g. direct financial support, donations, partnership contributions; access to existing contractor CSR programmes; provision of in-kind volunteering time; donation of services, materials, goods or expertise; sponsorship and mentoring. Activities are nor perspective and may include support to build capacity in community organisations; support for community events, recreation, community safety, environmental and arts and sports activities; work with local schools, voluntary groups, and service providers; and improvements to the local environment or local facilities. Measurement: Actual and percentage contract value of community support contributed and description of the activity or product delivered. Validation Requirement: Written evidence via completion of quarterly report describing activity, community participation levels, target group, timescales, impact and any publicity/promotion material (SC Ref:566186)",
