Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process involves Orbital Marine Power, located in Kirkwall, UK, seeking to appoint a contractor for the "Design & Fabrication of Subsea Mooring Connector". This tender falls under the services category within the marine renewable energy industry. The procurement method is classified as selective, employing a restricted procedure. Notably, the tender was active until 14th February 2019, but has been marked as unsuccessful and subsequently cancelled. The intention is to establish a two-stage process where a minimum of five suppliers would progress if they agree to a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) for further information.

This tender presents significant opportunities for companies specialising in marine engineering, specifically those adept at the design and fabrication of marine structures. Businesses with expertise in the marine and offshore sector, alongside a solid health and safety record, would be well-positioned to compete for this contract. Additionally, vendors should be prepared to demonstrate their capability to meet the stringent delivery timelines and detailed specifications set forth by Orbital Marine Power for the successful execution of the project.
