The common services (more commonly know as National Services Scotland) ("the authority") acting through its division Procurement, Commissioning and Facilities is undertaking this procurement of the supply of 3 Laser Flow Cytometer on behalf of SNBTS (Scottish Blood Transfusion Service), pursuant to the National Health Service (Scotland) Act 1978.

The Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service have a requirement for 1 x Flow Cytometers for the detailed analysis of donor or patient platelets, erythrocytes and leucocytes (including rare cells such as stem cells and antigen-specific T cells) and for more specialist applications including: the co-detection of reporter proteins and multiple surface markers or the analysis of cytokines; by the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) Research, Development & Innovation (RDI) Directorate.
