Summary of the contracting process

North Ayrshire Council is currently conducting an open procurement process for the "Millport Harbour Masonry Pier Repair Works" project, located in Millport, UK. The tender seeks experienced contractors to carry out essential repairs identified during a dive survey, which highlighted defects in the masonry pier, including voids in the blockwork and damage to the steel staircase. The submission deadline for tenders is 18th February 2019, and the works are expected to commence on 18th March 2019, with completion required by June 2019. This tender falls under the category of construction works and is governed by a fully open procedure.

This procurement presents significant opportunities for contractors specialising in marine and civil engineering works, particularly those with experience in concrete and steel repairs, including underwater operations. Businesses that possess the necessary insurance, demonstrate a strong track record of similar projects, and are equipped with skilled divers will be particularly well-suited to compete. As the requirement includes community engagement benefits, vendors with established connections to local supply chains may also gain a competitive advantage in this tendering process.
