The is a project to realign approximately 675m of a straightened stream to create a meandering watercourse approximately twice the length. The purpose is to enhance biodiversity, improve water quality and reduce flooding. The burn's straightness is believed to be the result of human intervention when the land was improved for agriculture. It is a low energy, slow moving watercourse, with small embankments on either side, that fills in with vegetation in the summer and scours out in winter.
