The Scottish Government Housing and Social Justice Directorate intends to continue the SSHTPI, a yardstick illustrating trends in tender costs of approved affordable housing projects throughout Scotland. The SSHTPI also feeds into the New Indicative Cost (NIC) calculation - our standardised works cost estimate template which allows developers to calculate an Indicative cost of their proposed housing. The indices (and regional variations) allow the individual costs of different projects to be assessed in a consistent manner.
