Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process is being led by LHC on behalf of the Scottish Procurement Alliance (SPA), which serves as a central purchasing body in the UK. The current focus is on a planned procurement for a "Minor Works" framework intended for refurbishment projects across six or more regional lots in England, Scotland, and Wales. Key details include the potential start of tender activities on 6th May 2019, and it encompasses various trades such as kitchen and bathroom installations, roofing, and disability adaptations. The initiative seeks to engage suppliers who can manage minor works effectively, with further opportunities for market analysis indicated within the framework.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in construction and refurbishment, particularly those with a multi-disciplined workforce or specific expertise in any of the identified trades. Suppliers, including contractors and subcontractors, are encouraged to express their interest early and participate in a market analysis survey to influence the procurement process. Additionally, organisations such as Registered Social Landlords, Local Authorities, and charities are expected to benefit from the framework, providing a broader canvas for businesses to engage with public procurement across the UK.
