Summary of the contracting process

The recent procurement process initiated by The State Hospitals Board for Scotland is for the "Perimeter Security & Enhanced Internal Security Systems 2019" project. This tender is particularly relevant to the health sector and is based in Carstairs, Lanarkshire, UK. Currently in the 'Award' stage, the contract was signed on 3rd February 2020 and is valued at approximately £7.17 million. It aims to enhance vital security systems within the NHS facility and involves a selective procurement method using a restricted procedure, projecting a duration of approximately 24 months for project completion.

This tender presents promising opportunities for businesses specialising in security systems, particularly those providing advanced technological solutions such as CCTV, intrusion detection, and integrated security systems. Companies with expertise in handling complex installations in high-security environments, including SMEs, are well-suited to compete. With the emphasis on rigorous project management and compliance with stringent standards, businesses that can demonstrate relevant experience and technical competencies, alongside understanding the healthcare sector’s sensitive nature, will likely have an edge in this procurement process.

Evidence referenced from the description of each project can be supplied in free text at the bottom of the table. Referencing must be clear and additional text must be concise and relevant. Evidence of involvement in previous projects must include detailed information that allows evaluators to understand: - Details of your organisations involvement in the project - The nature of the project and how it meets the essential criteria of relating to successful delivery of complex integrated multiple security systems set in organisations that make up the Critical National Infrastructure (CNI), High Secure Hospitals, Category A prisons, Government or Military settings in the United Kingdom or a compatible EU establishment. (The definition of a CNI site can be found at: https://www.gov.scot/Publications/2011/03/21095856/2 (paragraph 1). - The approach adopted to project management, including implementation and the commissioning of resultant works. It is important that bidders note that the project will be delivered within a live high security work environment that operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year where access to the site is controlled, tools are monitored and operatives are constantly escorted in a live environment. - The hospital therefore requires bidding organisations to evidence superior project management, implementation and commissioning skills that will ensure that the security of the State Hospital is never compromised. - How you meet the essential criterion of having previous experience of the integration of systems and equipment through the \"Cortech Datalog 5\" system.
