Summary of the contracting process

The Common Services Agency, known as NHS National Services Scotland (NSS), is conducting a public procurement process titled "Hepatitis C Medicines" aimed at supplying medicines for the treatment of Hepatitis C to NHS Scotland. This procurement is classified under the health industry category and is based in Edinburgh, UK. The procurement method used is an open tender procedure, and the tender period is set to conclude on 15th April 2019, with an estimated total value of £45,000,000. This project encompasses multiple lots, with specific pricing models requested for each lot: Treatment Cost per Medicine and Treatment Spend Cap.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly those capable of supplying medicines under the outlined pricing models. Companies with a large-scale operation, particularly those that hold relevant UK Marketing Authorisations or equivalent certifications (such as ISO 9001), would be well-suited to participate. With the capacity to provide both branded and generic medicines, businesses partnering as either single or multi-supplier framework participants could successfully align with NHS Scotland's procurement objectives.
