Summary of the contracting process

West Lothian Council is currently in the planning stage of a procurement process for "Early Learning & Childcare," aimed at enhancing flexibility and choice for parents under the Scottish Government's "Funding Follows the Child" initiative. To provide parents/carers with the required flexibility and choice in relation to'Funding follows the Child' published by the Scottish Government on 18 December 2018, West Lothian Council intend holding a Suppliers Event to describe a forthcoming procurement opportunity.

Lot 1

The Scottish Government and West Lothian Council are committed to additional investment in early learning and childcare (ELC) to increase the funded entitlement from 600 to 1140 hours per year from August 2020. This applies to all 3 and 4 year olds, as well as eligible two year olds. To learn more about a forthcoming procurement opportunity, prospective bidders are invited to attend a Supplier Information Event. Those organisations interested in attending should confirm by notifying the Corporate Procurement Unit - CPU.CPU@westlothian.gov.uk. It is envisaged that this contract opportunity will commence 1 August 2019 and will be for a period of one year. This contract is scheduled to conclude at the same time as the council's Early Learning and Childcare contract CC6000 which commenced 1 August 2018.
