This Prior Information Notice invites organisation to participate in market research to help share the procurement process for the development of Fountainbridge in Edinburgh.

Lot 1

The City of Edinburgh Council will shortly be inviting parties to bid to become the Council's 'Development Partner' in the delivery of a major mixed use scheme on a 3 hectare site at Fountainbridge, Edinburgh. The development proposals for the site comprise of at least 435 homes and a separate office building of approximately 10,000 sqm. The proposals also include around 3,000 sqm of ground-floor commercial/ retail space which could be used for a variety of purposes. The Council proposes to bring forward this opportunity as a single development package. It is expected that the Development Partner would construct 176 affordable homes, with ground floor retail (W3 and W4) for the Council, while the office space (E2), remaining residential units (W1 and W2), and ground floor retail/commercial space would represent a development opportunity. The Development Partner would also be responsible for delivering an energy solution for the full site. The opportunity is expected to be advertised in the Official Journal of the European Union later in 2019. This market consultation exercise is an opportunity for potential bidders to participate in shaping the Council's procurement strategy and gain insight into the proposed development strategy. Potential bidders who are interested in this opportunity are invited to download the market research questionnaire and complete no later than 3rd May 2019. Potential development partners who submit a questionnaire may be invited to a dialogue/question and answer session with the Council to expand on their response..
