Works to Craigellachie Bridge as per documentation in PCS-T project

Lot 1
Craigellachie Bridge is nearly 50 years old and is within its intermediate maintenance period. Following a principle inspection in 2015 it was highlighted that the following works are required to the structure:- -Removal and replacement of the existing bridge joints at the North and South abutments. This element of Works is contractor design. -Removal of existing carriageway and footway surface down to the sand asphalt waterproofing carpet protection layer. Recover and store all cast iron cats eyes. -Removal of existing precast concrete kerbs. -Repair roads drainage through Deck. -Refurbish road drainage below deck to discharge points. -Carry out patch repairs to mastic asphalt waterproofing and reinstatement of sand asphalt waterproofing carpet -Replace footway kerbs with either half batter kerbs as existing or Trie kerbing dependant on post contract decision. -Resurface bridge deck with hot rolled asphalt binder and surface course material. -Lightweight concrete backing to kerbs and surface footway with hot rolled surface course and binder. -Road Markings and reinstatement of cast iron cats eyes. -Replacement of all bridge bearings. -Installation of new parapet segments on to existing Subsequently, one of the bearings at the South West abutment has failed. There are temporary props in place to prevent further failures. The Contractor will be required to take responsibility for these props when the site is handed over to him.
