Notice Description

The objective of this contract is to provide a wind and watertight structure for Hangars 1 & 2 and a wind and watertight roof to Hangar 4 for the next 25 years.

Lot Information

Lot 1

The Works will generally comprise the following activities: 1) Establishment of compound area; Heras fencing to be erected to provide new temporary airside boundary for the duration of the contract and removed at end of contract. Refer to drawing B2335000-0003-LSI-20-1126 2) Over-cladding of roof of Hangars 1 & 2; 3) Replacement of wall cladding of Hangars 1 & 2; 4) Over-cladding of roof cladding of Hangar 4; 5) Replacement of cladding rails to the north elevation of Hangar 1; 6) Replacement of the purlins along the top and bottom of the skylight panels in Hangar 4; 7) Local corrosion repairs to purlins supporting the roof panelling in Hangars 1, 2 & 4; 8) Local corrosion repairs to the steel at the base of all four door posts of the Hangar 1 & 2 doors; 9) Local corrosion repairs to hangar door support steelwork in Hangars 1, 2 & 4; 10) Local corrosion repairs to internal steelwork where corrosion is showing on exposed faces of the portal frames in Hangars 1, 2 & 4; 11) Replace existing sliding doors of hangars 1 and 2 with new telescopic folding doors; 12) Remove and replace 22 no. high bay light fittings to allow replacement of the purlins in Hangar 4, including associated supply sockets, cabling, conduits and lighting support chains along the full length of the new purlins. A temporary VHF aerial will be required by Bristow to communicate between their Ops. Office and aircraft. This will be fitted by an onsite NATS engineer. This work shall be coordinated by the Contractor with Bristow. 13) 15 no. floodlights and 3 no. emergency bulkhead lights to be replaced with modern LED equivalents, 2 no. photocells, 1 no. cable junction box to be replaced, 2 no. aerials, 2 no. satellite dishes, 2 no. wifi routers and 1 no. intercom keypad and speaker to be disconnected, removed and reinstated on the new cladding, 3 no. fire alarm sounders to be disconnected, removed and replaced with modern equivalents in Hangars 1 and 2 - All to remain operation through contract; 14) Replacement of edge gutter along both north and south walls of Hangars 1 & 2; 15) Replacement of valley gutter between Hangars 1 & 2 and associated overflow boxes. During inclement weather Contractor to provide any temporary drainage to avoid water travelling into hangars; 16) Replacement of gutters and downpipes on north and south elevations fitted with equivalent sized plastic brackets; and 17) Replacement of edge gutter along west wall of Hangar 4 to match Hangar 3.
