To select a Recruitment Firm to find temporary solicitors to fill temporary gaps in staffing or in response to an unforseen business requirement.

Lot 1

The Scottish Government Legal Directorate (SGLD) has a requirement to place a framework contract with an external service provider for Temporary Legal Staff Recruitment Services in order to fill temporary gaps in staffing and/or in response to unforeseen business requirements. The requirements will include the need for solicitors experienced in litigation and drafting and of working within large organisations and in-house office settings. Temporary staff will be available at short notice and will be pre-interviewed by the service provider to ensure their candidates meet the minimum criteria for any post that requires to be filled.

Procurement Information

There is a significant risk to government business including the legislative programme if these staff are not brought on board. The Litigation Division require staff to deal with urgent litigation involving the Lord Advocate. It is argued that this is an extreme urgency brought about by events unforeseeable to the contracting authority and therefore justifiable under regulation 33.(1)(c) of the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015.
