The site is currently occupied by Scottish Power Generation's decommissioned Coal-Fired Power Station and associated Coal Yard and Ash Lagoons. The site is currently under demolition. Presently there is an inward investment opportunity to develop the coal yard site. SE require to commission a ground investigation to provide a comprehensive understanding of the site condition and highlight potential geo-environmental, mineral and geo-technical issues associated with potential future development. The information is also required to support both the technical design of the development and associated earth works/platforming exercise. The scope of works can be found within the Invitation to Tender (ITT).
