Notice Description

Caledonian Maritime Assets Limited (CMAL) owns ferries, ports and harbours infrastructure necessary for vital ferry services serving the west coast of Scotland, the Clyde Estuary, and the Northern Isles. CMAL currently owns 36 ferries. Thirty-one of these vessels are operated by Calmac Ferries Ltd (CFL) on routes to the islands and peninsulas of the West of Scotland, while five are operated by Serco Northlink Ferries to the Orkney and Shetland Islands. CMAL are currently engaged in the construction of two 100 metre duel fuel ferries (LNG / MGO) and have a requirement for the provision of shore based Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) bunkering assets at the ferry terminals of Uig on the Isle of Skye and Ardrossan on the River Clyde (UK, Scotland). The scope of supply will also require the supply of a through life maintenance and support contract to ensure that the facilities are supported throughout a 20-year life cycle with full responsibility for management and resourcing accordingly.

CMAL are wholly owned by the Scottish Government with Scottish Ministers the sole shareholders. CMAL currently owns 36 ferries. Thirty-one of these vessels are operated by Calmac Ferries Ltd (CFL) on routes to the islands and peninsulas of the West of Scotland, while five are operated by Serco Northlink Ferries to the Orkney and Shetland Islands.
