The procurement is currently in the Tender stage, with a total value of £2.5 million. Interested parties must submit their proposals electronically by 19 July 2019. "description": "Outline Scope of Works: The works cover the upgrade of ventilation systems for two wards at the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow. The value of the works is estimated at 2.5M GBP with the site start expected by October 2019. Ward 2A requires to be substantially upgraded with proposals for this area including the significant replacement and modification of the existing fabric and M&E services, such that the main bedroom suites can be effectively positively pressurised with HEPA filtered air and an appropriate pressure cascade system adopted, which includes ward isolation facilities (fitting of two transfer lobbies at either end of Ward 2A). Work will also be required to minimise the air leakage from pressurised areas. Some areas of Ward 2A have recently partly undergone some refurbishment in connection with existing facilities, however some other measures mainly relating to an improvement in the general quality of the air supplied to the ward and the improvement of the pressure cascade are proposed. For Ward 2B it is proposed to install central station HEPA filters within the corresponding supply AHU, together with increasing the general supply air flow to increase the air flow within the general Day Ward Areas, where practicable. The works across all areas will include elements of builders work to create a new plant room, service risers and lobby spaces as well as the removal and replacement of the ceilings to facilitate the ventilation works. The M&E works will include the installation of new ventilation plant, ductwork and HEPA filtration. It is also likely that there will be a requirement to alter some of the supply lines for the water and medical gas systems in order to accommodate the new ventilation works.
