Summary of the contracting process

The Scottish Government is conducting a public procurement process titled "Non Domestic Energy Efficiency Framework" aimed at improving energy efficiency in public sector buildings across the UK. This open tender is currently in the active stage, with a projected value of £120 million. The submission deadline for bids is 3rd October 2019, making this a time-sensitive opportunity for potential suppliers. The contracting process includes two lots, focusing on energy efficiency installations such as prefabricated energy centres and energy-efficient boilers, with specific criteria to ensure a range of energy efficiency assets are considered and utilised.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses looking to expand their operations, particularly those involved in energy services, construction, and sustainability. Suppliers that possess technical experience in energy performance retrofit, compliance with technical standards like ISO certifications, and the capacity to handle projects valued up to and exceeding £1 million would be ideally placed to compete. Additionally, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) that can showcase relevant past project experience and meet financial criteria may find this framework a viable pathway to gain traction in the public sector.
